This is sure to be the LONGEST post you have ever seen from me or will ever see from me. BUT Valentines '08 is one worth remembering. I don't journal, so I'm going to remember it forever via blog.
I love Valentines Day! I think it is so cute & to me, it is an equal holiday for guys & girls alike. You do nice things for each other not just expect "the guy" to sweep you off your feet. RYAN, on the other hand totally disagrees. (even though this will be his 5th Valentines Day with me & he is the recipient of all my thoughtfulness ;) He refers to this holiday as the "Gangster of Love Holiday" whatever that means.
So last year as I was talking to a good friend of mine about a week before "Gangster of Love Day" I had NO idea what to do this year. I usually have an idea a few months ahead, but this year I couldn't think of ANYTHING! My friend was trying to help me come up with ideas & I was telling her how much Ryan hates this V-day & then, I GOT THE BEST IDEA OF THE YEAR! I will make this exactly what he thinks it is! A GANGSTER OF LOVE DAY! I will do every cliche thing he cannot stand about this "girly day."
Ryan refers to these types of dresses as "plastic dresses" He hates them very passionately. I won't tell you how, but I just happened to get my hands on one red & all for this special occasion. :) This is how I greeted Ryan when he got home from work that night at 10:00.
Notice, all the little details, the sick fabrics, nasty chocolates, the covered CD player that was playing piano love song music, the confetti. If only you could see the candy hearts & chocolate rose.
I got all decked out in lots of disgusting make-up & glitter... complete with an up-do.
I wish you could see how great the teddy bear was. It was huge! I even put it in some silk, animal print (another one of Ryan's favorites) boxers. The said "Grrrr" all over them in red.
How mean am I??? He comes home with take out from Ruth Chris & got me those beautiful flowers & I just did everything I knew he would hate. Luckily Ryan has a great sense of humor & thought it was all very funny. It was a good time. I wish all of you a Happy Gangster of Love Day! Do something cute/fun/cliche/silly for someone in your life today. It's a great day! What's not to love?

Ok, this is hilarious. You are so funny. Hopfully Dan won't read this, although he probably will, so I can steal this idea next year. (But the funny thing is, unlike most guys, Dan really likes V-day!)
